Minimalist photography appeals to me for stripping away the superfluous, leaving a clear subject amid calm. I rediscovered this editing a shot from Copenhagen's Royal Danish Theatre during a December Christmas concert. The dark stage held just a narrow light beam on the absorbed musician—simplicity, stillness, and contrasts captured his unconscious concentration.
I kept him small in the frame, letting vast black negative space and the vertical light column dominate. This guides the eye to him, evoking a world fading away—a visual tale of focus and presence.
